In my photo, I am trying to portray who I want to be as a person at the end of my high school career.  As one might notice, I am dressed very elaborately with crystals and jewelry.  This choice of apparel is to depict my desire to inspire those around me.  Grand jewelry is always eye-catching; I want to open the eyes of people whom I meet throughout my life.  Also, it goes without saying that jewels are a sign of power.  When I am through with my high school education, I wish to develop as a leader and lead my acquaintances to great things.  My hair is swept off of my face to show my current and future confidence.  During my life, I do not long to hide in a corner and not make a difference.  I long to display my confidence and leadership.  In the image, I am also smiling.  This presents the fact that I want to stay happy with everything that I am doing.  Finally, my hair is curly.  Curly haired people always appear to be the most likable and approachable.  I want to be thought of as a person for anyone to talk to about current issues.

I wish to achieve this identity by beginning to pay attention to smaller details and/or feelings of those around me.  One even might say I wish to be like Griet's father: he lost his sight, but his hearing became much better, and his imagination became of more use. "I have little to think of now except for memories.  It will give me pleasure to imagine a painting by a master, even if my mind creates only a poor imitation"(Chevalier 47).  I want to take notice of those who are hurt, but try to hide their feelings.

When I reach my new identity, I know that it will be after taking a lot of cautious routes.  Carefully, and intelligently, I plan to set my life.  I do not want to jump right into new things, I hope I read, find information, and truly think about things prior to my beginning.  An example of this occurring is when Griet was choosing between all of the places she could go after leaving Vermeer's house, "When I made my choice, the choice I knew I had to make, I set my feet carefully along the edge of the point and went the way it told me, walking steadily" (Chevalier 216).  She had to think about which choice to make, but after some time she knew the proper decision.
